1 Abolish Illiteracy: Start with Yourself

  • Eliminating illiteracy in women and men and developing them spiritually, in their health and Well-being as well as academically and developing their talents through a special Anba Abraam curriculum
  • Training of servants in all diocese
  • Length of training is one day (4-5 hours)
  • Length of study is 9 months

2 Nurseries

  • Training of nursery supervisors in every village and underprivileged areas within the diocese
  • Training time is 5 days
  • Consultations on construction, preparation and furnishing the nurseries

3 Coaching Team

  • Teaching children reading and writing and developing them spiritually, health-wise, socially, and in skills through well trained expert servants
  • This program will be applied in 10 months and the children are divided into 2 levels with 2 different programs
  • The servants will be trained in this program for one day (6 hours)

4 Realize Your Dream

  • Rounds of training for youth with diplomas to increase their skills
  • Throughout a period of 6 months, there will be a division into 4 levels beginning with learning to read and write, courses in the English language, courses in Computer training and the study of other skills. This will raise the standard of those with diplomas enabling them to obtain better employment opportunities with better salaries.

6 Leadership and Management

  • Training rounds for servants to enhance leadership and management quality
  • This training is 8 sessions over a 2 month period

7 Servants Development Training for the Diocese

Training servants who teach development and growth is one of the most important steps to realize the vision of service for the Anba Abraam program and that is “every Christian is a servant and every servant is an evangelist for Christ through his/her behavior and works”. The training consists of:

  • A full and complete curriculum composed of 50 varied topics split into 2 stages (2 books)
  • Each stage takes 3 months (2 weekly lectures with a ½ hour break in between)
  • The written curriculum is presented in addition to some reference books
  • It is possible to obtain the help of specialist speakers through Anba Abraam in coordination with those persons in charge of this service (once a month)
  • Workshops are available
  • There will be a graduation ceremony along with certificates and awards for the students at the end of training.

8 Family Counseling

The family counseling service’s aim is to treat the causes of family problems and to counsel the family in the ways of how to interact with and understand and bring up their children based on contemporary methods and what is agreeable with the teachings of the Holy Bible.

9 Apologetics for Today’s World

This service has become a necessity in light of the current waves of doubt, skepticism and the tendency towards atheism among the youth.

The vision of this service: To bring up a generation of servants and youth who are firm in their faith and armed with acceptable and reasonable responses related to dogma and are able to interact with doubtful youth.

The Program: the aim is to respond to the diverse questions about the existence of God and the basis for creation, evil, suffering, eternal life and the Holy Bible and its validity.

Preparation or Training:

First- Prevention- this service builds up the church through lectures and appeals.

Second- Treatment- to minister to the cases suffering from atheism and doubt.

10 Development and Economic Projects

The committee is responsible for developing growth and finding sources of income through free commerce and economic projects by:

  • Required training based on the servant’s specialty and the demand for projects
  • Different and new ideas for projects that serve all areas
  • The assistance in preparing and doing feasibility studies of the proposed projects in the area
  • Success stories and examples to encourage those with interest in new projects
  • Guidance on possible purchases of necessities for the projects
  • Legal support and information

11 Medical Service

  • A medical team has been formed to follow-up on medical services throughout the Diocese and the formation of clinics in villages to give medical treatment to the underprivileged requiring the least amount of payment for service.
  • Medical convoys are cooperative and outside the limits of the church with coordinated efforts of the medical team.

12 Health Awareness

Rounds of health awareness teaching for trainees from every area and being a physician is not a condition. The length of training is 5 days.

13 Nursing Training Rounds

  • Nursing training to care for the elderly and those who are sick and homebound to graduate nursing assistants of Christian morals to serve the sick and elderly
  • Provision of the latest technology for training
  • Provision of employment opportunities
  • Granting of certified diploma
  • Length of training is 3 months
  • Financing of training and meals for trainees
  • Trainers are a group of specialist doctors and those who have already been trained

14 Vocational Training

The Golden Jubilee Center for training at Ain Shams presents:

  • Training cycles specialized to expedite employment opportunities for youth

Training in areas such as: hair styling, sewing, computers, electric, air conditioning and cooling, washer/dryer maintenance and dish installation

The trainers are specialists and will be using fully equipped workshops

Trainees will receive completion certificates

15 Special Needs

The Center of “Life Together” in the village of Deir El Bersha in Malawi, Governorate of El Minya

  • The Center does special training for servants or those who want to work in this field so they can assess children and youth and composing the appropriate training programs.

The aim of the training cycle is for the trained individual to prepare and apply the qualifying programs for those with special needs- mental incapacitation- and their families and put them on the correct path.

The numberof training hours are 230 or 42 days with completion over a 6 month period averaging 1 week per month.

17 Men’s Meetings

  • A group of servants goes to an area to work with and visit with the men every Sunday and that is the most important part of the service and to invite them to attend the special meeting for men.
  • The servants pray with those served and the distribution of special offers and services to give the served a feeling of distinction in the meeting.

18 Hospice for the elderly

  • A service for difficult to treat cases at the hospital level which causes a tough situation for the family of the ill person due to lack of facilities or ways to treat pain or give personal care, nutrition or the nursing that is needed.
  • This service also offers emotional, spiritual and recreational support which every human being deserves during their illness and to their last breath.
  • This is the message and job of hospice care and to those who are at home or in a hospice facility through those who perform this care or the specialists who offer it such as the spiritual or mental counselors.

19 Serving those who have not finished their education

  • Those are the girls who have not completed their education.
  • The age group is 12 to 25 years old
  • Teaching of reading and writing, good health awareness, sex education, some cooking and baking skills

20 Employment

This committee is responsible for providing employment opportunities and obtaining jobs for employing youth- of all qualifications and specialties.

  • An office has been established at the Diocese for the monitoring of the nearby villages and neighborhoods that belong the Diocese.

Burundi

Services available are spiritual youth meetings and educational courses in English, Computers and Human Development for University level. Educational courses for children in Math and Science taught in French. Also available are courses in health awareness and etiquette along with summer camps and visits to schools and hospitals.

Medical services through a hospital rented to the Coptic Orthodox Church in all specialties and a licensed clinic and lab that were added to a rented home.

Two annual trips for the purpose of offering spiritual services and human development in 7 regions throughout the country and the work of 2 medical convoys are complete to date.

Angola

We have completed the work of one medical convoy in cooperation with the Jesuit church for the service of the refugees. There is also spiritual activity such as prayers and Bible study for the served. The work of the second medical convoy was complete in September of 2017 with the participation of the United Nations unit for refugee affairs.

In the capital Kampala in the South, Busembatya in the East, Mbrara in the West, Arua in the North and the surrounding villages- the services available are Servants preparation programs, Sunday school for the Ugandans and Sunday school for the Egyptians, awareness meetings for the youth, school courses for elementary and secondary schools, refugee services, disabled services, shelter and prison services. Also available are medical services and missions but not on a regular basis.

Malawi

Africa Malawi

A church foundation rock was laid at the presence of Anba Antonious Morcos. The land is owned by the church and architectural plans are complete for building a church, clinic, hospital, school, and a multi-purpose training center. There are also computer lessons at a Catholic shelter and a Bible study in a village with recreational activity for children as well as spiritual activity for the youth.

Medical services are available due to the spread of diseases such as AIDS (an immunodeficiency illness) affecting over 11.9% of inhabitants and increases at the rate of 250 cases per day in people under the age of 19. Other diseases that are spread are diarrhea, hepatitis A, typhoid fever, malaria, the plague, bilharzia and rabies. The ratio of doctors to patients is one doctor per 65,000 patients.

The available services are a medical team by the name of Saint Paul that attends every three months and performs medical exams for all ages and specialties and dispenses medications and eye glasses. They also perform exams in schools with special needs, shelters, social centers and charitable organizations as well as the University of Mauritius.

Available services are a boarding house for girls with emphasis on education in the most contemporary schools. It has 12 girls ages 7 to 17 and 3 girls ages 18 and 19. There is also a center for computer learning, languages (Korean and English), vocational training, sewing and art. Available also are medical services throughout the year that include dentistry, gynecology and gastro intestinal.

Light for Orphans is an international child development organization dedicated to alleviating the suffering of orphans and vulnerable children in Egypt, by providing support for their physical, emotional, psychological, and mental well-being. This inaugural 5K event is to raise financial support for this vulnerable population, as well as raise awareness to their plight, while participating in a fun filled athletic event to build unity.

Our goal is to raise $5,000! We can do this through your support and prayers!
