God has blessed Light for Orphans with a 13 acre plot of land located just outside of Cairo.

The purpose of the land is to build a large retreat center to serve orphans and vulnerable children through annual camps and retreats.

Phase One:  The Farm

The goal of Phase One is to use the land land for farming.  This allows the children to benefit from the land even before the retreat center has been completed.  Two full-time caretakers and several volunteers tend care for the land and animals on the existing farmland.  The fruits, vegetables, and livestock that are currently grown on the land are distributed to the children throughout the various orphanages in Egypt.

In preparation for Phase Two of the project, the concrete foundation for the main building has been laid.

Phase Two:  The Retreat Center

Phase Two of the project includes:

• -  building facilities for orphans to accommodate 300 children
• -  additional facilities to include:  classrooms, counseling rooms, recreational space for art classes, games, media equipment, and a sports center which will include basketball and volleyball courts and soccer fields
